The Rhode Island Manufacturers Association (RIMA)–and its sister organization, the Rhode Island Manufacturing Institute (RIMI; aka makeRI)–are the voice of manufacturers in Rhode Island for legislative and regulatory issues, economic development, and education/workforce development.  

The University of Rhode Island College of Engineering studies how composite materials behave in extreme environments utilizing specialized equipment and laboratories. The school also partners with the government and private industry in their research.

The URI Center for Career & Experiential Education (CCEE) is a resource for connecting with employees and interns. The university also runs several career fairs.
